Unite in Europe

Unite's believes that the UK should remain in the EU and opposes any attempts to leave it.

The UK economy is intrinsically linked to the wider EU economy, which accounts for about 60 per cent of its export market. Leaving the EU would not only damage the UK economy, but would mean social rights granted by European legislation - maternity and paternity pay, annual leave, health and safety minimums - would be at risk.

Unite works with Labour MEPs and the Party of European Socialists to promote more rights for workers and oppose the politics of austerity which are taking hold across Europe.
