Rolls-Royce: don't abandon Barnoldswick

Don't abandon our town

Rolls-Royce has a long and proud history in the Lancashire town of Barnoldswick – stretching back over 80 years.  It is the birthplace of the world’s first jet engine and maker of the fan blade for the Trent family of engines. Generations of families are proud to have worked there.

Now Rolls-Royce wants to move all fan blade production to Singapore. 350 jobs are under immediate threat but we fear the entire site is now at risk.

We need the government, our MPs and Rolls-Royce to do more to defend the UK's world class aviation industry.  There are high skilled, well paid jobs and good quality apprenticeships that ought to stay in the UK. It’s something worth fighting for.
