Baggage handlers at Luton airport suspend strike action

Planned strike action over the bank holiday by baggage handlers employed by Menzies Aviation has been suspended following negotiations held today (24 May) between Unite representatives and the company.

“A Unite spokesman said: “Following productive talks today (Thursday 24 May) with Menzies Aviation, Unite representatives have suspended strike action planned for the bank holiday at Luton airport.”

The union will  hold a ballot on the new offer over the coming days with a recommendation to accept the proposed deal.
