The North West is one of the largest
geographically and most important in terms of the motorway and
ports infrastructure in the UK.
Major ports in the region include Heysham,
Liverpool and Manchester.
It has also major distribution hubs in Grocery
Retail, Car Delivery, Chemical & Petro- Chemical industries, as
well as the region being a major manufacturing centre.
The Road Transport and Logistics Sector of
Unite have over 10,000 members employed in all of those modes of
transport and distribution. BIG & SMALL WE SERVE THEM

How your union works-
- The membership in the region in our sector is represented by
elected representatives through branches and workplaces from across
the North West onto the Regional Industrial Sector Committee
(RISC).
- The North West RISC has 18 representatives.
- They have been identified by that area of Road Transport or the
Logistics group in the region and the membership size.
- Each member of the RISC has been elected from a conference of
representatives (shop stewards, branch offices, ect... and
nominated to represent your group identified in the North West
Region.
