Car Transport
This section of the RTC, Logistics &
Retail Distribution has since the early 1980’s have a very
effective shop stewards combine and organisation (National Car
Council) representing some 2000 drivers and other distribution
staff and grades.
This has established
‘MINIMUM
STANDARDS’ across over 40 companies both
regionally and nationally. Our shop stewards meet 4 times a year to
monitor and assist our members around their terms and conditions of
employment, encouraging new employers into the industry maintaining
standards and ensuring employment protection when commercial
contracts are moved between employers by the
manufactures.
The National Secretary, has alongside his shop
stewards have agreed the involvement of Regional Industrial
Organisers (RIO’s) who act as ‘Co-ordinating Officers’ for the
major national companies.
