Gurkhas deserve justice and equality

the campaign for justice and equality for Gurkhas
Make sure that Gurkha veterans who retired
before 1 July 1997 are paid pensions that match those of British
and the Commonwealth soldiers. Sign the

Gurkha troops should be treated the same as British and
Commonwealth soldiers; they served in the same armed forces and
under the same regulations but are denied the same rights. Sadly
the Ministry of Defence enforces a separate set of rules and
regulations for the brigade of Gurkhas that sees them receive
inferior pay, allowances, pensions and other benefits.

An agreement signed by Britain, India and Nepal in 1947 agreed
that: “In all matters of pay, promotion, welfare and other
facilities the Gurkha troops should be treated on the same footing
as the other units in the parent army so that the stigma of
‘mercenary troops’ may for all time be wiped out.”
It’s time to call on the government to back its commitment and
the Gurkhas. Support the campaign for justice and equality for
