Skills
Unite recognises the
need for increased investment in skills and that action must be
taken to address the skills shortages.
The e-skills UK Quarterly Review reports that
34 per cent of establishment with IT vacancies, 'IT positions
often were proving difficult to fill and as a result a significant
number appear to be suffering from, amongst other things, delays in

meeting customer service objectives.'
e-skills UK acts as the voice of employers on
IT, Telecoms and Contact Centres to create the skills environment
that businesses need to be productive and competitive.
Further information on the skills gap and the needs of industry is
available from their website.
