Stella Mann
I was born, raised and educated in Preston,
Lancashire and completed my Nursery Nurse training (NNEB) there in
1983. I worked in a nursery and infant school before moving down to
Dorset where I helped with our family business until my own
children started school. In 1995 I was employed as a Community
Nursery Nurse (CNN), one of eight in Dorset. In 1997 I trained as a
clinical supervisor for CNN’s and regularly undertake supervision
sessions. I undertook a review of CNN’s in 2000 in Dorset to see
how our role has developed and to look at future working practice.
This review was then sent to Thelma Sackman at Unite when she was
looking for representatives for the CNN Forum and I became the CNN
Rep for the South/South West. I completed my training to become an
LAR for Unite in 2005 and I became the CNN Rep on the Operational
Advisory Committee. I am currently the Secretary of our regional
branch of the CPHVA and I look forward to being the new Chair of
the CNN Forum.
