Professional Liability Insurance for
Health Sector Members
The Unite Professional Liability Insurance Scheme provides up to
£3 million cover for any claim made against you by a patient,
colleague or member of the public.
Some categories of member in the health sector receive PLI
cover as part of their ordinary Unite subscriptions as the PLI cost
is paid for at source. These are:-
- Members of Unite/CPHVA
- All Registered Nurses
- Members of Unite/MHNA
- Members of Unite/SSHA
- Members of Unite/CHCC
- Counsellors, Psychotherapists & Arts'
Therapists
- Perioperative Practitioners (including Theatre Nurses,
ODAs & ODPs)
Also some categories of member in the not-for-profit sector get
PLI as part of their ordinary subscriptions. Members of the
not-for-profit sector including:-
- Clergy
- Disabled Housing Trust Carers
All other health professional members of Unite, whether in the
health sector or any other sector (including veterinary
practitioners), may chose to buy into the PLI scheme.
The cost is £15 per annum or £1.25
per month - please contact your local Unite regional
office to join the scheme.
