Unite members vote for Scottish Agreement

Unite members covered by the Scottish Print
Employers Federation National Agreement in the GPM sector, have
voted conclusively in favour of the 2007 Agreement.
The agreement will give a 3.3% increases on
all nationally agreed rates as from the 1st July.
Unite National Officer, Steve Sibbald, said of
the result:
“I think the result demonstrates how
distinctly aware our members are of the problems that their
industry is facing especially this year.
“We purposely didn't claim for
anything other than a straight increase in wages because we
recognise those problems, negotiations were very hard and there was
a real possibility that there would be no agreement at all. So I'm
very pleased that our members have positively endorsed our
actions."
The agreement will cover almost 2000 Unite
members in Scotland.
