30 October-6 November 2010
Licensees Unite ws proud to support British Pub Week and Paul
Naylor, Licensees Unite national president, was part of the
organising committee. The great British pub is under threat, with
more and more closing every week. The objective of British
pub week is to remind us all of the vital importance of the pub to
our communities and it was marked by a number of different events
at a pub near you. The pub has always been a very important
hub for trade unionists, not just as somewhere for working people
to relax and socialise, but in many areas as a meeting place and a
venue for branch events. Pubs also provide jobs for many
thousands of Licensees Unite members who work in them as managers
and bar staff so even if you went to a British Pub Week event near
you – keep on going! More information about what went on
during British Pub
Week.
