Unite at Scottish Widows
Unite, within Scottish Widows, is a recognised trade union that
negotiates your pay, terms and conditions and we act in partnership
with the company to address issues that may affect you
directly.
Members can turn to Unite for advice, guidance and
representation at formal hearings as well as legal support if they
have a problem within the workplace. Our representatives in
Scottish Widows are there to ensure that your employment rights are
observed. Scottish Widows regularly consults the union on both
local and company wide issues. Examples where Unite representatives
have been involved in robust discussions with the company include
off shoring (where we have ensured there have been no compulsory
redundancies), transport issues between the different Scottish
Widows sites and in the protection of pension and Health and Safety
rights.
We also run workplace campaigns such as ‘Zero Tolerance to Zero
Pay’ and we are introducing ‘Union Learning’ to give members the
chance to improve their work skills or for personal
development.
