Northern Rock staff made their voice heard at shareholder meeting

Employees of Northern Rock held a demonstration today (Tuesday 15 January) outside the bank’s Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) in Newcastle.

Staff wore t-shirts with slogans saying: “We are Northern Rock” to remind shareholders that the voice of employees must not be ignored and handed out leaflets to the shareholders to make their priorities clear.

The Unite 'Charter for Northern Rock and Future Stakeholders' sets out the union's expectations for Northern Rock management and any future stakeholder in the bank.
