Unite at Barclays
Welcome to
the Unite at Barclays website. This website is just one of the
many ways in which
Unite informs and supports its members at
Barclays.
Unite exists to protect and improve our
members' interests. We negotiate and consult with Barclays on a
daily basis to get you a better deal at work.
Our major priority is to help and
represent members who have problems at work. This can vary from
simple verbal advice, to dealing with complex issues linked to
Barclays Disciplinary, Capability and Grievance procedures. We also
help many members who are off work on long term
sickness.
We provide a variety of other benefits to
our members such as free education courses, free legal advice and
many discounted products such as insurance services.
Unite works with Barclays through a
Partnership Agreement, which has just been renewed for a third
term. At the heart of this agreement are regular meetings and
dialogue with senior business leaders and a problem solving
approach to all major issues. Under the agreement Unite is
consulted early on issues and has the ability to influence
Barclay's decisions. This has led to a number of ground breaking
agreements over the past ten years and, as part of the recent
renewal, a move to concentrate on developing new initiatives on
equality and learning.
Unite in Barclays is organised through
the National Company Committee, which is made up of around 25
workplace representatives, elected on a regional basis who meet at
least 4 times a year.
