Procurement
Public procurement policy continues to be a key
campaigning issue for Unite and the union has campaigned for
the government to adopt a more transparent and long-term public
procurement policy.
The government must ensure that UK companies are not
being disadvantaged, compare to their European competitors, by its
interpretation of EU public procurement rules.
The Chancellor recently asked Alan Wood, Chief Executive of Siemens
plc to investigate British business experiences of competing for
public contracts in other EU countries, the results of the "Wood
Report" have now been published.
