Heating & Ventilation
This section of the website is for members
working in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning,
refrigeration and domestic piping industry, within the UK
construction and mechanical contracting sector.
The national agreement was formulated in 1911
by the Heating & Domestic Engineers' union (now part of Amicus)
and the
Heating
& Ventilating Contractors Association (HVCA), and
represents a comprehensive structure of working rules for the
industry, including:
Rates of pay, overtime and
allowances
Grading and skills
competence
Education and
training
Holidays and
benefits
Improvement of
productivity
Procedures for handling
grievances and avoiding disputes
The agreement seeks at all times to improve
the industry for employees, employers and for the public good as a
whole.
