LLL in Scotland

Lifelong learning in Scotland call centre person

Scotland is a country with its own parliament and laws, and education and lifelong learning is devolved to the Scottish Government.  Unite Regional Learning Organisers in Scotland work in a policy environment which is different to other parts of the UK, and work directly with MSPs, government agencies and colleges to bring new opportunities to Unite members.

The lifelong learning programme in Scotland is active across all sectors of the economy. We have learning agreements with many prominent employers, including the NHS, Remploy, Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems, First Group, Co-operative distribution, DHL, Strathclyde Partnership for Transport, National Australia Group, local authorities, the Church of Scotland and other voluntary organisations, and UKAEA. Our aim is to provide lifelong learning opportunities for all members in Scotland.

Over the past year, more than a thousand union members have completed free, accredited learning, delivered at the workplace.
