Tata Steel Day 2011
The event was as usual a great success, 6 visitors to the stand
were recruited into Unite on the day and the information gathered
from the free prize draw resulted in a further 5 members being
recruited. Other information gathered was a list of companies
in the Scunthorpe area who were not unionised, these companies will
be targeted for recruitment in the near future.

Great Yorkshire Show 2011
Here are a few picture's sent in by children from Townville
infants school after Unite treated them to a day out at the Great
Yorkshire Show.











Durham Miners Gala 2011
The 9th july 2011 saw the 127th Durham miners gala. This was
well attended by over 100,000 trade unionist from all over the
country. Here are a few pictures of the day.












March for the Alternative 2011
26 March 2011 saw London shake with the call for change for the
government to listen and change tack as hundreds of thousands came
to the capital to march for the alternative.
International womens day 2011
International womens day at Sheffield
university
Sue Pollard regional women & equalities organiser spoke
about equal pay at an event at Sheffield university which was
organised by Paul Blomfield, MP for central Sheffield. This event
was supported by Unite and was attended by 300 people, mainly
women. The 'Made in Dagenham' film was shown to guests and a total
of £550.00 was raised by a collection held on the night. This is to
be split equally between the Sheffield Girls college in Pakistan
which is being rebuilt following the earthquake and SOFA a women's
charity in Haiti



Linda McAvan MEP celebrates International
women's day supported by Unite
Unite supported a function which was arranged by Linda McAvan
MEP to celebrate International women's day. 135 women from across
the Region attended the afternoon tea, which was a charity event to
raise money for the Tasibah Girls school in Pindi, Pakistan. Guest
speakers included Dr Gill Liddington, an expert in women's
sufferage and author of the book on the history of the suffragette
movement in Sheffield

Leeds Pride 2010
