TATA Steel Day 2011

The TATA Steel day is usually attended by around 25,000 to 30,000 people, there are various stalls and activities plus a fun fair, Unite have a stand that is staffed by several shop stewards from TATA Steel and the Hessle Branch in Hull. There will be free handouts and a prize draw.

Leeds Pride  " Glitz & Glamour"Leeds Pride

The 6th Leeds Pride will be held on Sunday 7th August 2011 and the theme for this year will be 'Glitz and Glamour'.The events commence at 12pm in Millenium square and the parade will leave at 3pm, where the procession will head down the Headrow and onto Vicar Lane, then onto Call Lane. The Unite Regional LGBT Committee shall be participating in the march carrying the Unite LGBT banner,
We would like to encourage a high Unite attendance at the event and therefore are sending out an open invitation to everyone as all assistance will be very much appreciated.
Anyone unable to meet at Millennium Square is invited to come along to the Unite Regional offices at Call Lane from 1.30pm onwards to help and assist with events that are happening around Lower Briggate.

Great Yorkshire show

The Great Yorkshire Show (GYS) is an agricultural show which takes place on the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate, North Yorkshire in the North of England annually from the second Tuesday of July until the following Thursday. It is organised and run by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society (YAS).

Durham miners gala

Durham miners gala

Durham Miners Gala is the largest gathering of trade unionists and their families in Europe . Last year over 100000 people attended  this historic event. This years speakers include Unite general secretary Len McLuskey. Help us build on the success of the London 26th of March Rally and be part of the next stage of our  "Don't Break Britain" campaign. The Unite marchers will leave from under the viaduct near the rail station at 08.30 am and proceed through the streets of the ancient city of Durham and meet for the gathering and speeches at the racecourse.
