Message of solidarity for June 30th strikes
'Unite stands in solidarity with all those workers on strike
today, who demand this government keep their hands off public
sector pensions. The Hutton report does not say these pensions are
untenable. In fact, Hutton says the cost of pensions as a % of GDP
will fall over the coming years. This government simply does not
want to pay for pensions - this is no more than a race to the
bottom. Unite members from the EHRC who today are out to defend
their pensions, stand alongside our fellow unions against this
unfair attack on public sector workers.'
