Unite welcomes 10 year agreement between Royal Mail and the Post
Office
24 January 2012
Unite, Britain's biggest union, today (Tuesday 24 January),
welcomed the 10 year agreement between Royal Mail and the Post
Office but urges the two organisations to prioritise jobs.
Ian Tonks, Unite national officer, said: “We never accepted the
principle of separation but at least this announcement will allow
both parties to concentrate on the challenges ahead.
"The coalition government has said that the Post Office should
become the front office of government. It now needs to deliver on
that promise.
"Unite will be looking to both organisations to ensure that job
security and prosperity are a priority."
