Unite reaction to sale of RAC by Aviva

Tony Murphy, Unite officer, said: “The news of the sale of RAC
to the Carlyle Group will bring to an end a period of speculation
and uncertainty for the workforce. Unite has had extensive
assurances that this sale will ensure that the workforce is
protected, terms and conditions will be maintained and crucially
the pensions' arrangements will be replicated. It is vital that the
Carlyle Group stands by the guarantees given to the staff and works
with the union to ensure the future success of the business."
