Tory sums don't add up and the party’s policies don't make sense
15th February 2010
The Tories botched proposals for co-operatives in the public
sector and the shocking error on teenage pregnancy figures show
just how confused and out of touch the party is, just months before
a general election.
Derek Simpson, Unite joint general secretary, said: "In just one
day alone the country has witnessed the Tories crash and burn
with botched plans for the public sector and a gross
distortion of the truth about teenage pregnancy. The party’s sums
don't add up and its policies don't make sense.
"David Cameron is getting it wrong every time. The Tories insult
the country's intelligence with every u-turn, every distorted
statistic and every botched policy announcement. With only months
before the election it is clear that the Tories are not fit to run
the country."
