Staffordshire brewery support company recognises Unite
17 October 2011
Workers at Staffordshire company Kammac plc, which provides
services to the brewery industry, have voted overwhelmingly for
Unite to be their recognised trade union.
Unite regional officer Rick Coyle said: ‘”Unite is proud that
not one employee of Kammac voted against recognition by Unite in a
secret ballot. One hundred per cent of the workforce have opted to
be covered by collective bargaining.”’
A 100 per cent voted in favour on a 65 per cent turnout. A total
of 114 ballot papers were issued; 75 were in favour and none
against.
Workers at Kammac Plc in Burton on Trent provide warehouse and
other support to Molson Coors at its brewery site in the town.
Rick Coyle said: ‘”The company has now agreed to recognise Unite
the union for collective bargaining purposes and to hold
discussions on the practical procedures for recognition.’
‘”We are glad that the employees have recognised the importance
of trade unions as the organisation best able to protect their
interests at this very difficult economic time.”’
