David Cameron puts NHS up 'For sale'

2 September 2011

On the eve of the Health and Social Care bill's third reading in parliament, NHS workers in medical scrubs with David Cameron masks will be holding an NHS 'For Sale' estate agents board to symbolise the privatisation of the NHS.

Date: Monday 5 September
Time: 12.45pm - 1.30pm
Venue: Westminster Bridge (overlooking Big Ben and parliament)

Unite is calling on MPs to vote against the Health and Social Care bill.

Unite national officer for health, Rachael Maskell, said: "David Cameron promised he would not privatise the NHS. Yet the Health and Social Care bill will open up lucrative NHS contracts to private healthcare companies whose main aim is to maximise profits for their shareholders."
