Highlands and Islands fire fighters call off industrial action

Unite Regional Industrial Organiser, Donald Munro, said:

“The day of strike action planned for 9th June has been called off, pending further discussions involving ACAS. However, we have very little hope of resolving this issue without the involvement from the Scottish government.

“Due to the unique nature of their jobs our members deserve more than 2% and they know that strike action is the very last resort.

“The day of action planned for the 4th July will commence as planned.”
