Supermarkets wield unprecedented power in today's world. In the UK,
they undermine communities and destroy local businesses. From
Bangladesh to South Africa, they exploit workers in sweatshops and
on plantations, trash the environment and profit from human rights
abuse in their pursuit of profit at any cost.
People are fighting back. Across the world communities are
standing up to supermarket power. This conference brings together
activists, trade unionists and experts from the UK and the global
South who are on the front line of the resistance to supermarket
power. Be inspired by the alternative models they are building. Be
part of the movement to take back power from these corporate
giants. (Note: the conference will be preceded by the War on Want
AGM).
