Unite's reaction to GDP figures

Unite joint general secretary, Derek Simpson, said: The UK
economy is still paying the price for the greed and recklessness of
bank bosses. These figures show exactly why there can not be a
return to the bonus culture that wrecked our economy and put
thousands of ordinary finance and manufacturing workers out of
work.
"The GDP figures also show just how wrong the Tories are on the
economy. The Conservative's policies would plunge the UK into a
deeper and longer lasting recession. They want no government
intervention, would do nothing to support and create jobs and want
savage cuts in public services."
