Only Labour MEPs promise progress for workers - Unite slams
Plaid claims
28th May 2009
Andy Richards, Unite Welsh regional secretary said: "More paid
holidays, better parental leave, rights for temporary and agency
workers and rights to information and consultation are just the
headline employment rights that are in place in Wales and the UK
now because of Labour MEPs and the Labour government.
"Labour MEPs have pledged to tackle the fair access to work for
Welsh workers in engineering construction. They can hold their
heads up high in their championing of employment rights and leading
on behalf of Welsh workers.
"It is the case in Wales as in the rest of the UK that no Labour
MEPs means no progress. Simple as that."
