Fox's biscuit workers march through Uttoxeter for rally at
town hall

Hundreds of Fox’s biscuit workers will tomorrow (Saturday 14th
February) be marching through Uttoxeter to ensure their factory is
chosen as the new Fox’s ‘super site’.
Over 800 Unite Fox’s biscuit workers are determined to do
everything they can to make sure their town of Uttoxeter is chosen
for the brand’s new ‘super-site’ as a three month wait on the
plant's future comes to an end with a decision imminent.
Hundreds of local jobs depend on the Uttoxeter site being chosen
as Fox's flagship factory in the UK. The site is also one of the
last major employers in the area.
Unite convenor at Fox’s, Lorna Andrews, said: “People from
across the region will be out in force this Valentine’s day to show
their support for staff at Fox’s in Uttoxeter. Unite members will
be joined by their friends and family at the event.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to show Fox’s management and
the people of this town how important the factory is to
Uttoxeter.”
Unite members working at the Uttoxeter factory will be showing
their ‘love’ for their jobs in a Valentine’s themed event. Staff
will march through the town with placards and banners holding a
giant heart cut out.
The management at Fox’s Biscuits is expected to make a decision
on the Uttoxeter plant's future in early March.
The march will lead to the local town hall for a rally at 12pm.
Speakers at the rally will include local MP, Janet Dean and Unite
regional secretary, Gerard Coyne.
