Unite members at Argos stand firm over strike
action
1 August 2008
Unite members working in distribution centres for Argos across
the Country are now on a four day stoppage.
Jennie Formby, Unite National Secretary says: “Our members voted
overwhelmingly to reject the pay offer put forward by Argos and are
currently on a four day strike. These members are low paid
workers and the offer is completely inadequate particularly in view
of the massive profits the company has made this year and the huge
bonuses paid out to senior executives.
“Our members are solid in their action and willing to continue
to strike until the company agree to share some of their profits
with the workforce.”
