Unite the Union Benevolent Fund
(Registered with the Charity Commission no.
228567)
Introduction
The Unite the Union
Benevolent Fund is the benevolent fund for Unite the Union members
and employees and their immediate dependents.
To apply
If you wish to apply for assistance from the Unite the Union
Benevolent Fund either complete the form online and then copy and
paste it into an email or download the form, fill it in and forward
it to the address on the form.
The application form will ask you to give full
details of your income, savings, capital, debts and housing
expenditure, as well as information about your circumstances and
Unite the Union membership or employment. Please make sure
that you complete all sections of the form and supply the requested
supporting documentation
Once your application has been received it will be reviewed by our
staff, who may need to contact you for further information or
clarification, before it is submitted to the Trustees for
consideration.
The Trustees meet bi-monthly to carefully consider each new case on
its merits. We take into account both our available budget and our
framework of guidelines which are designed to ensure consistency in
the help we provide.
Donations
As the funds of the Unite the Union
Benevolent Fund are limited we welcome any donations that
interested parties might like to grant us. Please fill in the Gift
Aid form below and send accompanied by a cheque payable to Unite
the Union Benevolent Fund.

Tax-efficient giving
UK tax payers who make any form of donation to the Fund could
increase the value of their contribution without any cost to
themselves by completing a Gift Aid Declaration which allows the
Fund to reclaim UK tax paid. There is no commitment to regular
giving by completing a Gift Aid Declaration.
Leaving a legacy
Legacies, both large and small, make a real difference. Seven out
of ten people in the UK have not made a will. With rising house
prices, most people have greater assets than they imagine and
making a will is good practice at any age. It also provides an
opportunity to make a bequest to charity, and perhaps to give help
you could not afford during your lifetime.
