Representation in Parliament

Amicus has a prominent position within the British and European Parliaments, the Scottish Parliament and the Welsh Assembly. The Amicus Parliamentary Group consists of Amicus members who are members of the Labour Party in both Houses of Parliament.
 
Representation in parliamentThe Group considers issues referred to it by the NEC, and is focussed in sub-groups around Amicus' main industrial areas, including manufacturing, science, pensions, the voluntary sector, health and safety, equalities, the NHS, and finance, mergers and takeovers.
 
The Group supports members' interests through involvement in the drafting and amendment of legislation, as well as by making representations to Government departments, tabling Parliamentary questions and working on Select Committees.
