New Unite 'Working Time Regulations 2008' guide now available

WTR 20089 October 2008

The European Working Time Directive (EWTD) has ensured UK workers have gained many valuable employment rights, such as the right to paid holidays, a maximum working week and the right to rest.  The EWTD was designed as a measure to improve workers' health and safety, and where the UK government has not fully implemented the EWTD into UK law, Unite has led the campaign to rectify this.  As detailed in this guide, this has ultimately led to Unite initiating legal action which has ended up in the European Court to get the Government to make the necessary changes to UK law.
