Esher Place - frequently asked questions
Q: I am visiting the area - can I book a room
and stay at Esher Place?
A: Esher Place does not operate a hotel type
bookings system - you can reserve a room however on one of our
special members weekend breaks.
Q: I have a disability - what facilities are
available at Esher Place?
A: We are constantly improving facilities for
members and visitors with disabilities. To date, Esher
Place has wheelchair friendly access lifts,
bedroom and toilet facilities. There is also hearing loop
facilities available.
In order to ensure that we can meet specific needs we advise
delegates with disabilities to make contact with Esher Place
management prior to arrival.
Esher Place operates a PEEP (Personal Emergency Egress Plan)
system for delegates with disabilities - This involves a short
meeting with the Duty Manager upon arrival so
that we can assess what assistance may be required in the
event of an emergency.
Q: I want to apply for a course - do I
contact Esher Place direct?
A: No - all course administration is carried out
by the Education Department based at Hayes Court.

Q: I'm a senior staff representative - can I
organise a meeting at Esher Place?
A: All reservations for union related meetings and
events are regulated by a bookings policy and must be
organised through an Unite officer. Officers are required
to seek the relative authorisations prior to any meeting
request being confirmed.
Q: I'm attending a course soon and I have
special dietary requirements - can Esher Place meet my needs?
A: We cater for vegetarians on a daily basis - in
order to cater for other specific needs however we do ask that
delegates advise us of any information relating to
diets or allergies prior to arrival.
Q: I am attending a course / meeting at Esher
Place and would like to bring my partner, can this be
accommodated?
A: We regret that partners are not permitted,
unless they are providing carer support for a disability.
Q: Can I smoke at Esher Place?
A: In compliance with the law Esher
Place is a non smoking venue, this includes all bedroom
accommodation. You may smoke in the grounds, however we
suggest that smokers bring suitable outdoor clothing.
Q: Do you have a dress code?
A: There is no specific dress code, but as a guide
to members we recommend a smart casual approach.
Q: Does Esher Place have wifi access.
A: We have regulated wifi access points, see
reception for details.
Q: Is there anything I need to bring with
me?
A: A large towel is provided - you may wish to
bring additional towels if required.
