the Northern College Diploma in Trade Union
Studies – a 2 year part time course for women and men
who are active in their trade union, you don’t need any
qualifications. The course focuses on UK industrial relations
issues – from a trade union point of view – and the development of
study skills and essay writing techniques.
There's a mix of residential and distance learning. Each
year of study includes eight residential weekends and distance
learning, plus there's a week-long Summer School. You have
access to the college Library and Learning Resources and plenty of
on-line tutorial support.
The programme is designed to help you to develop your learning

achieve a final award equivalent to the first year of a degree
course and access to Higher Education.
