NHS employers 3. Management of equal pay claims NHS employers
We have heard of some cases where equal pay claimants have not been aware that they have claims proceeding in the Employment Tribunal. We recommend that employers receiving requests from solicitors for information in relation to equal pay claims check with the individuals concerned before releasing information. The NHS Litigation Authority has provided advice for employers on this matter and this is available on our website.

NHS employers 6. New manual handling advice for employers NHS employers
Manual handling is the most common type of occupational ill-health in the UK. Back pain and other musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) account for approximately 40 per cent of all sickness absence in the NHS, resulting in a cost in the region of £400 million each year. NHS Employers has updated its advice on manual handling and MSDs in the forthcoming Healthy workplaces handbook. Some of the information from the manual handling chapter, including employer and employee responsibilities, is now available on our website.
