Don't lose your rights
+++Unite is calling on people to support the campaign to
protect the rights of ordinary people at work. Read the May Day message from Unite general
secretary Len McCluskey+++
As Britain’s biggest union Unite represents workers
in every industry in workplaces up and down the country. Last
year’s election saw a fundamental change in how Britain was
governed as the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats cobbled
together a coalition that called for change.

Protect your rights

But the Con-Dem coalition’s call for change is a recipe for
ridding workers of well-earned rights as a catalogue of cuts sweep
across communities changing the very nature of what made Britain
great. No one demanded wholesale change to the NHS, or the cuts to
Building Schools for the Future, the increase in tuition fees to
£9,000 or the end of the EMA.
The Con-Dem government is cutting too fast and too deep, and is
now targeting your rights, the protections you have at work that
stop rogue employers from gaining all the profits while making you
do all the work. That’s why Unite is calling on people to support
this campaign. Sign up and say:
- Listen to the voice of ordinary working people
- Don't let the coalition break Britain
- Protect our rights
- Work together for progress
- The cuts won’t work - It's time for a 'Plan B'
This is just the start, over the coming months Unite will be
leading a massive and concerted drive that will Unite workers
across the country to protect and support one another, to protect
and support their rights, and to protect and support our society
and what makes this country great. Don’t let the Con-Dem coalition
break Britain, join Unite and make
sure you protect your rights.
