history of delivering the finest seafood products to the people and
restaurants of this great city, stretching back centuries. The
workforce are central to its character and its success.
So we, the people of London, do NOT
support the Corporation of London's attack on the portering staff
at the market. These changes will damage how the market functions,
ruin Billingsgate and destroy our heritage.
These workers contribute to the wealth
and well-being of London. There is absolutely no reason to change
now what has worked for centuries.
We urge to Corporation to think again. Don't let dogma destroy
London."
