Assurance Workers
Formed in 1919 when a number of Assurance
Agents Associations joined together the National Amalgamated Union

National Union of Insurance Workers
In 1964 the National Amalgamated Union of
Life Assurance Workers and the National Federation of Insurance
Workers merged to form the National Union of Insurance Workers. The
national union which did not produce a badge was really a
federation of unions relating to a variety of Insurance Companies
with each section retaining their independence to a certain degree.
Only the London & Manchester Field Staff Association, the
National Pearl Federation, the Prudential Staff Union (PSU), the
Refuge Field Staff Association, the Royal Liver Employees’ Union
and the Royal London Staff Association produced a badge for their
members. The NUIW merged with MSF in January 2000.
